Areas of Expertise
Gestalt Therapy, Student Psychology, & Postnatal Support.
When I have decided to study psychology, the main reason for my choice was a general feeling of attraction and fascination with regard to this discipline. At first, I was more interested in the psychobiological and cognitive aspects characterizing the human being but, after graduation in 2010 at the University of Padova (Italy), I felt the necessity to deepen my knowledge about the relational and interpersonal facets of psychology. With this goal, from 2011 to 2015 I have attended a four-years psychotherapy training school in Rome (Italy), where I have learned Gestalt therapy principles.
My curiosity for cognitive psychology was not vanished though, and this led me to complete a doctorate in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of L'Aquila (Italy, 2011-2014), and to work as a post-doctoral fellow in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Padova (Italy) from 2015 to 2017. In Padova, I also had the opportunity to work as psychologist for the university students. Currently, I am working in Academia as a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of Leiden University (Netherlands).
Recently, I have focused on a very delicate but extremely powerful period of human life: the postnatal time. In 2017 I have attended in the Netherlands a theoretical and practical training with the Postnatal Support Network, and I am now a certified postnatal supporter, commonly called doula. Being a doula gives the possibility to actively feed the mutual bonding relationship between mother and child, and within the whole family too, which I think is an inestimable opportunity from where to start helping others.
If you are experiencing personal and/or interpersonal difficulties, if you are a student and you are looking for psychological support, or if you are a mother-to-be and you would like to receive support during the postnatal time, please feel free to contact me for booking an appointment or just for asking more information. You can fill the form here below or email me.
Starting from September 2019, SBM Psychology & Support will receive in Trento (Italy). The visiting address will be announced shortly.
